The Journey Ahead: Insights from the Seeq Roadshow – Denver

December 28, 2023

As we envision the future of manufacturing, we foresee steady yet profound transformation across industries. Implementing near-real-time analytics will make sustainability, reliability, and product quality achievable goals rather than lofty ideals for industrial organizations.

At our Conneqt Regional Roadshow in Denver, the Seeq team explored this vision and shared our excitement for the challenges customers bring to us that will propel us toward this future. Major chemicals, pharmaceuticals, MMM, utilities, and energy industry players came together alongside our cloud, technology, system integration (SI), and services partners to share learnings and best practices for advanced analytics at the event.

Sharing practical knowledge

From Tallgrass’s compelling use case about compressor blowdown events to IT Vizion’s focus on cost efficiency, the roadshow had no lack of practical knowledge. Not to mention, AWS showcasing the immense potential of cloud-based analytics and edge computing. At different stages of their analytics journeys, companies gathered to learn, inspire, and sketch out their vision for the future.

Optimizing Methane Management
Tallgrass illustrated how Seeq was instrumental in automating the process of calculating methane volumes, effectively giving three work weeks back to operators and providing a consistent, reliable metric for regulatory compliance.

For Tallgrass, the next frontier is to push results from calculations automatically into cloud-native ERPs like Salesforce, explained John Spelic, Manager of Automation and Equipment Analysis at Tallgrass.

Value-Centric Approach
Darren Steele, VP of Operations and Analytics at IT Vizion, a Seeq partner, discussed how the company shifted its focus to raw materials, energy, labor, and maintenance costs. He showed that Seeq was the key player for self-serve analytics, helping businesses become more cost-efficient.

People & Tech Symbiosis
Kris Wiggins, Senior Analytics Engineer at Seeq, highlighted that genuine innovation is not a one-man show but a collaborative effort. The flexibility of Seeq promotes vertical and horizontal scalability, removing siloes and enabling a more unified, efficient workforce.

“Ingenuity doesn’t happen in a vacuum or with a black box, Wiggins explained. It takes a holistic approach. And AI can assist it.

Visit our previous blog post to learn how Seeq is building a foundation for success with generative AI (GenAI) and advanced analytics by integrating the core elements—reliable enterprise data, advanced analytics, and GenAI—within a workflow that places domain experts at the center of the process.

Cloud and Edge Convergence
Preet Virk, Senior Partner Solutions Architect from AWS, broadened attendees’ horizons by taking us through the future of edge-to-cloud solutions. The AWS suite of services is complemented by Seeq capabilities, promising an exciting future for industrial analytics.

The role of analytics is critical to future success

The role of advanced analytics in shaping a more sustainable, efficient, and innovative industry can’t be overstated. The journey is not just about technology; it’s about people, it’s about collaboration, and most importantly, it’s about realizing a shared vision for a brighter future. Together, we’re making strides in achieving operational excellence and creating solutions that bring tangible value to businesses.
