Leveraging IF97 Property Data to Optimize Batch Cycle Time

Christopher Harp, Process Engineer, Chevron Oronite

For a fully utilized batch reactor line, any improvement we can make in batch cycle time results in more product available to sell and, thus, increased profit. One of the rate-limiting steps in the batch process is a distillation, governed by complex first-principles calculations and physical property data. In this presentation, I’ll explain how we were able to leverage the IF97 Water and Steam Properties functionality in Seeq Workbench to shave 60 minutes off the distillation step, a ~12% reduction in batch cycle time.

Seeq Deployment at Scale - Cargill

Kim Price, Global Senior Manufacturing Analytics Engineer, Cargill

How does a large company successfully deploy Seeq at scale? We will discuss best practices around integrating Seeq solution into industrial processes at Cargill, a global food corporation, including gaining support from key business stakeholders, increasing value to the business, training users, establishing a user community, and maximizing Seeq adoption.

Multi-Product Best Run Rate

Michael Schemm, Data and Analytics Specialist, Cargill

With a breadth of different products running at different rates, sales planning and scheduling for vegetable oil refineries is a challenge. Setting accurate targets based on historical data is a critical component of scheduling optimization. This presentation speaks to the advantages of using Seeq for this analysis over our previous toolset, specifically regarding the ability to perform complex calculations scaled across many product grades and production facilities.

Plan, Learn, Adapt - Rollout Strategies for a Diverse Organization

Fariha Imami, Manufacturing Intelligence Project Leader, PQ

At PQ, no sites are alike. Differences in data maturity and resourcing add extra layers of complexity. We didn’t find one recipe that fits all. Instead, we found a new mindset of agility and continuous improvement, enabling us to leverage existing resources and apply our learnings to deliver better results at each iteration.
