Steffen brings a versatile and thorough approach to his work.
Steffen hails from Århus, Denmark. His introduction to programming was in the mid 1980’s when his father obtained a Grundy NewBrain microcomputer. Steffen had found his calling. His first job was with a small Danish company, which allowed him to be involved in all aspects of the business, beginning with small-scale web development and system administration, to being named Head of Development eight years later and leading large-scale collaborative projects with international clients such as Zimbra, Yahoo and VMware.
Unsatisfied with only a 9-17 job, he co-founded a small company that provided hosting and software development, including the development of a meter-reporting web application for reporting usage to Danish utility providers.
After 13 years, and ready for new challenges, Steffen was given a unique opportunity to establish the in-house software development department of boligportal.dk, a Danish online housing portal. Again, he relished the opportunity to influence, participate and oversee all aspects of the process.
Colleagues usually describe Steffen as versatile, quiet, thorough, quiet, helpful, and quiet.
Steffen is married to an American, and they recently moved to the U.S. with their two young boys. Steffen found his way to Seeq as a full stack developer, and is excited to be part of the innovative Seeq team. Steffen also spends a substantial amount of time “behind bars”. From training rides in rolling hills in Denmark, to the UCI Road Race World Championships in South Africa in 2012, Steffen prefers seeing the world from a bike seat. He is excited to now be able to see the Cascades as well.
